Hardware security can improve your password security
If you keep patient files or other sensitive information on your computer, there is always the risk that the data can be accessed. The usual solution to this is to use a password. However, typing in a secure password is a pain, so many simplify, making it an easy target for determined hackers.
Rohos offers an alternative solution. Logon Key turns any USB into a security key. Basically, instead of typing in your password, you insert the USB key, and it automatically logs you in. If the key is removed, the computer automatically locks. Obviously, a plain USB is going to work better for this trick, but you could also use an iPod. Importantly, there is no extra access, so you need to create a spare USB key in case you lose your first.
Rohos also offers a free download of USB encryption software, Rohos Mini Drive. This creates a hidden partition on any USB drive, which is encrypted and password protected.
