Speakapedia lets you take the wiki with you (Mac OSX)

Speakapedia converts wikipedia article text into an itunes track for iPod consumption. It strips all the uninteresting links and tags and includes the useful information. There is a 14 day trial period, $10 for full version. Leopard only.

Even if you don’t trust all the articles on Wikipedia, you can find some interesting information on Biostatistics, History of Medicine, or something you need to understand better as background to your work, such as ASA scores or medical ethics.

If you are really anti-Wikipedia, but like the idea the idea of “reading” text on your iPod, then take a look at Say it Save it (free) which converts text files to MP3.

I should note that these tools create pretty emotionless audio file - not so good for creating audio books, but probably great for “re-reading” study notes. Probably even better for subliminal studying.
